I don't really wish to complain...

But I'm not sure how fond I am of a place that rips your family from you and makes them forget you entirely.

You're not complaining, my lovely sister. You're venting. You're airing your frustrations and your hurt and that's far better than holding it in.

I'm sorry for what happened, even if I had nothing to do with it. But you've been hurt by it, and that isn't fair.

Snow, I hope that doesn't happen again, but if it does? Remember that I love you.

I'm taking a few days off of work. I told Anne about how much this upset you and she's okay with me stepping back to spend time with you.

I don't think you're complaining. You're voicing what many of us are feeling in one way or the other, but haven't said aloud.

[Gansey doesn't normally share his emotions or deeper thoughts. He's been trained almost since birth to always present a calm façade, but he feels like he needs to share. To help both of them.]

I have the same kind of feelings, but for the opposite reasons. Whatever we just experienced gave my friends and me a family, then took it away.

Oh, Evie... I- I missed you so much.

[A heavy weight fell away when Evie called her "sister" again. Like a balm to heated skin.]

Well, you can still have a family with your friends, they can be your family. My friends were my very first family, in fact.

I do have that, but I'm not certain if the new family I had during that anomaly would want - [him] to continue those sorts of interactions.

Honestly, I think it's normal to want to complain sometimes. As life is never gonna be perfect as much as that sucks, so we will all have something we don't like.

But hey what you are not fond of is very valid. I'd hate that myself.

That's a tough question. On the one hand, I remember having a father I knew, and a mother who was kind and fierce. A warrior who protected so many and did it so selflessly. I had a brother I loved dearly and so many others in that life that made it really wonderful.

And for as much as I do still care for the people involved? I love the life I really know and wouldn't trade it for anything.

I may have never actually met my father. And I may not ever, but that's fine. Because I'm happy. I found myself and my place and, in any life, that's the best thing.

I- well, there's nothing wrong with complaining. Grumpy does it all the time, to be sure. [And she doesn't love him any less. But complaining literally got her nowhere while she lived in the castle and no one even listened to it.]

Well, you won't know unless you speak with them, silly goose. Just because they aren't your blood family anymore doesn't make them any less important.

Oh yes, Evie is my sister again, I missed her terribly and I'm so glad to have her again.

No matter what life you have, you're far too lovable in every way for anyone to not want to be around you and know you.

So I can't say I'm surprised at all that you were adored then too. I'm glad you had such a good family, dear.
