I don't really wish to complain...

But I'm not sure how fond I am of a place that rips your family from you and makes them forget you entirely.

[Snow White values family above all else.

So having it taken from her?

Not the nicest feeling.
]

I do hope that won't happen again.

I don't think you're complaining. You're voicing what many of us are feeling in one way or the other, but haven't said aloud.

[Gansey doesn't normally share his emotions or deeper thoughts. He's been trained almost since birth to always present a calm façade, but he feels like he needs to share. To help both of them.]

I have the same kind of feelings, but for the opposite reasons. Whatever we just experienced gave my friends and me a family, then took it away.

You're welcome.

[There's a hint of a smile in his voice as he tries to hold back what he wanted to say. Snow deserves kindness and the version of Gansey that attempted to help others in pain, not the hurt that still ached in his chest at the thought of lost family.]

I do have that, but I'm not certain if the new family I had during that anomaly would want - [him] to continue those sorts of interactions.

Your found family has been returned to you?

[Gansey knows that Snow's given the logical solution, but he has generations of hiding emotions bred into him. Talking about such things is against everything Ganseys are trained to do. He begins to phrase an explanation of that aspect of his childhood, when she mentions Evie, driving away what he was going to say before.]

During what happened, I thought Evie was my adopted sister. Bruce was our father.

She is a wonderful sister and the Bruce I knew as a father was very supportive.

[Which shouldn't be different than his own, real father, but it'd felt different. Perhaps because Bruce hadn't acted like Gansey's eccentricities was something to be humored.]

But I shouldn't impose on her in such a way. It's not - [What Ganseys do.] Proper. All of this was forced on her. It wouldn't be right to think that she'd want to continue that type of relationship.

[Snow's words are a gentler version of something Adam or Blue might have said to him. The thought is accompanied by a pang of guilt that Gansey knows that, for now, he needs to ignore. Instead he considers how to explain that he isn't intentionally making assumptions.]

I don't mean to make assumptions. The people in my family, the family from my world, don't discuss feelings or situations like this. It goes against what my family is supposed to represent.

It's difficult sometimes to allow myself to act differently then how I was trained.

[Pausing, he realizes something about the situation that he hadn't thought of before. The Gotham version of Gansey hadn't known about Snow.]

How would you feel about her thinking of me as family?
