[ Whoever is broadcasting is doing so from up high, and it appears as though they have wings. At least, they come fluttering into view every once in a while. All flashes of pixelated blue and white, the hum of static in the air. And they're up pretty damn high, too. Watching the men on the wall, watching the eerily quiet town until, with a snap of electricity, the wings vanish and whoever it is falls.
It's a super-heroes landing, feet visible for a moment or two until they vanish. No, they didn't step out of view. They turned invisible.
And then, another whine and something....someone forms just in front of whoever is broadcasting. Pixel by pixel, the figure of Eugene Sims appears and for a moment, it's too still. Arms out in a T-pose, much like a character in a video game. And then the projection seems to solidify, arms dropping to the copy!Eugene's side and it looks exceptionally realistic.
However, it's not realistic enough because just as the copy takes a step forward, there's a growl and a thud and whoever's broadcasting hits the ground with a loud grunt. The copy vanishes as the broadcasting Fluxphone skitters off to the side. Half-buried in snow, the only figure it records is real Eugene. There are claw marks in his hoodie, right across his right rib cage and while he is bleeding, it doesn't look like he's in a lot of pain.
There's a bright flash of red around his eyes as his features twist into a glare, pixels forming above his clenched fist before his arm outstretches and he fires off a round of hard-light pixelated fire.
Something yelps, there's the sound of something running, and just when Eugene feels triumphant, another Unseen knocks him over and he hits his head on the wall, knocking his dumb ass right out.
Before the Unseen can do anything, there's the sound of shouting and fire and someone steps on his Fluxphone, cracking the screen and turning the broadcast off.
Some time later, maybe an hour, he'll be broadcasting again, this time on purpose. Guess who is also spending the night in the hospital? This dude. ]
So uh...if, per chance, you have the ability to rapidly heal? You're not going to be able to if you're attacked by the Unseen. Just...take my word for it. I-I used to be able to? But...I mean it's been an hour. I'm still bitten and scratched. I still have a concussion. No amount of tapping into my particular energy source is doing anything.
[ He goes to inhale deeply, getting ready to sigh, but there's a wince and a soft groan from him. ]
Don't...don't mess with these things unless you're in a group. Or have some kind of knowledge to use against them.

[ Yes, it's a stupid question considering that Tandy had seen the very first feed but she has spent the time in between scouring the city for him, fearing the very worst. So when he pops up in the hospital, she is both relieved and maybe a tiny bit pissed off but also still very freaked out.
She takes a second or two just to breathe then, leaning against a random brick wall as she tries to calm her frazzled nerves. Then she looks at her phone again. ]
How long do you have to be in the hospital? Can you have visitors?

[ God does he feel awful for upsetting her. Like, 'deep in his bones this gross feeling is never going away because he upset the girl he's deeply crushing on' awful. ]
I'm sorry. I really am. I wanted to s-see if they could be fooled by decoys? I figured if they could, we could use that against them. But...n-no such luck.
[ A soft sigh as he lets his head drop, shaking it some. ]
That was really stupid, now that I hear it out loud.

No, it was a good...idea. I mean, now we know something more about them. I just wish that you would have told me so I could back you up.
no subject
Yeah. Next time. We'll coordinate something a little less stupid than my idea.
no subject
I'm just...really glad you're okay.

[ Okay, so...he's taking a bigger risk, right here. And he's probably going to regret it. ]
Hey, Tandy? I was wondering if...m-maybe you'd like to go out sometime? On a date?
no subject
Sure. [ A small smile. ] Until then, are you allowed visitors at the hospital?
