Well the last few days have literally been crazy. I found myself in the hospital with a leg injury and just as I was getting released a bunch of people were rushed in for treatment.

A lot of folks had been ice statues from what I was told. So obviously I felt obligated to stay and help treat the injured parties, since I'm a licensed medical doctor. I hope everyone is doing well after fighting those monsters.

If anyone is still suffering any ill effects, please don't hesitate to contact me. For those of you I didn't get to meet at the hospital, my name is Dr. Jean Grey. I'll be working at the hospital while I'm here. So if anyone does need a check up or treatment for injuries you can't handle on your own, feel free to call me for help.

But welcome to Driftcrest. I'm Miles.

So I've been hearing. I'm just glad to hear that everyone is doing better. There's a lot of appreciative and grateful people in this town, thanks to a brave group of people putting themselves out there.

It's nice to meet you, Miles. Have you been here long?

Yeah it was pretty intense for a while. It's good things are finally getting better though.

Yeah I've been here a few months. Just long enough to get used to some things while still being able to be surprised.

Well life would be pretty boring if you had no surprises.

Good point. Though I could do without some of the more extreme surprises.

That's fair. But some times those extreme surprises can keep you on your toes.

Yeah that's true too.

And being in this place definitely keeps you on your toes.

In that case, I think I will take this place as an opportunity to hone my skills and hopefully expand my horizons.

[ all things considered, she wants to try and see the positives for being brought to Driftcrest. ]

[ He can definitely appreciate taking a positive spin on things. Hopefully the bad things like dealing with the Unseen will be kept to a minimum. ]

That's true. Although it seems to be getting a bit bigger, with more people arriving recently.

It's actually doing fine. How are you doing, Gwen?

[ She appreciates the sentiment. ]

I live with the best people. They're all making sure I'm recovering. Miles is helping me plan a project. My new housemates are keeping me entertained.

Best recovery I've ever experienced.

How are you settling in?

Ah so Miles is one of your housemates?

[ Well that's sweet to see the kids sticking together. ]

It's been a bit daunting. It's very nice here, but I do miss my fiancé and my students.

[ They're been sticking together since Miles showed up here. It's a thing. ]

He is. He's my best friend.

Hey, if you need anything, even if it's just a chance of scenery, let me know? I make a decent cup of coffee. I can tell you about every place this universe has changed into and what we experienced in each one.

Well it is good you two have each other here. There are many friendly faces around but familiar faces from home are comforting to have.
