Friends! Though I am aware I have recently introduced myself in another video, I feel the need to bombard you with another.

You see, in my adventures at sea I have met quite a few well decorated men and women, and was fascinated by the artwork that adorns their bodies. My explorations tell me that there is such a place here, that will place these inked masterpieces on your body, and I have decided I absolutely must try this.

But first, it is prudent to ask questions. How many of you have such things as tattoos? When did you get them? Was the process painful? Do you enjoy your artwork, or is it something regrettable?

I have no fear of pain. Though I was speaking of a place called Mystic Ink. It appears they are also able to do them.

[But he smiles a little, a sly little thing.] Still...fearing no pain will be...helpful to you in getting anything done.

Tattoos are very personal. Fascinating. I have thought about getting one done myself. I have never gotten around to it.

I should hope they would be personal. They last forever. The pirates I sailed with would tell me stories for each tattoo. If there was truth to them I am not sure, but there was entertainment to be had in it.

And what would you get as a tattoo, my fine helpful friend?

...I don't know, exactly. I have never been able to decide. That is part of the problem.

Perhaps...a butterfly.

And what means a butterfly to you?

Butterflies mean...change. The ability to adapt.

Freedom.

Such lovely thoughts from such a small insect.

I would choose something to represent my father. A skull with a rose growing out of it, perhaps.

Small creatures can change the world.

That sounds good. Important. I think a tattoo should be something that grounds you. A...compass, of sorts.

As do thoughts of my father ground me and yet still keep me in motion. [She attempts a smile, but it's watery and half formed.] So much the paradox.

Much of life is a paradox, indeed.

Okay, fine. She absolutely is. She found an old music store and is digging around to see what she can find. Surprisingly, there's a good amount of stuff. ]

The fact that Mystic Tattoo's age requirements are sixteen and up has me considering a tattoo.

What would you consider, then?

Kinda, yeah. I'm treading lightly, I promise.

[ Not that Hamlet knows this, but Gwen's one of the many costumed super-heroes running around town. She's got a trick or two up her sleeves that'll keep her safe. ]

[ Rooting through a box for a moment in the store room of a toy store, Gwen considers the question for a second before she answers. ]

I like music. Dancing. Drumming. It's always been a part of my life, long as I can remember. Maybe something for that?

An entertainer! I have oft delighted in the talents of thespians and tumblers and other such folk. Surely, something worth commemorating. I am envious of those talented enough to answer the call of the arts.

I'm definitely enjoying it. You should have been here a few months ago. Our school, when school was still in session, we put on a show in the park. It was pretty amazing. We all got to show off what we could do.

I am sorely sorry I missed it. Perhaps it is time for another such show?

I have a couple of them. One is... stupid by I have another that's pretty good.

This is what gives me pause. For I do not wish to someday look at the markings of my body and think "Ah, a poor decision, made in haste."

I was given to believe the ink is inserted under the skin. That the art is scarred into the skin and heals as a wound would. How can that be removed?

They do it with lasers. It takes some time but they can remove it

A focused beam of light can erase a tattoo? Fascinating. I will have to take care to keep it out of the sun, for safety's sake.

Okay, but both of your tattoos tell a story, and I'm pretty sure that's part of why people get tattoos most of the time.

I have a mark but it's not a tattoo. I've thought about it though.

Just not sure what I would get yet.

For my first I would honour my father with my choice. This above all is most important to me.

After that, I might be more free with my choice.

I think I would like to get a dragon. I don't know what I would get if I was honoring my Dad though.

What would you get to honor yours?

A dragon! Adventurous, to be certain. I have seen many a map that ends on here there be dragons.

A skull, I think. A momento mori. But with a flowering rose, to show he lives eternal.

Yeah, dragons kind of have a special meaning for me. [ A small smirk. ]

That sounds cool. Where would you get it?

I... had not thought that far ahead. Decision making is a journey of many steps, and too often I retrace these steps over and over before a final decision can be made.

That's....actually a good thing. Sometimes I'm a little too quick when it comes to making decisions and then I make really bad ones.

I have made several poor decisions in my life, by acting too rashly. The consequences were great. But as has been pointed out to me, a tattoo affects none but myself alone. Perhaps then I might be able to make a decision regarding the potential art on my skin with this knowledge in mind.

I've never gotten one. They're expensive and I've never been able to settle on imagery. I know people with tattoos, they say they hurt depending on where you get them done, but I don't really have much else I can say about it. Are you sure you want to?

I am greatly unsure of many a'thing. Tis one of my greater flaws, I will admit. Perhaps that is why I have come to this place, to seek advice and reassurance that it is the right choice.

Though I ought to say that honouring my father is never a choice, and therefor the decision becomes a little easier. A little more clear.

I once made a rash decision and it cost me dearly. I have learned to take time with my planning, now.

I'm sorry to hear that. [And he realizes he's going out on a limb here, but-] At least with a tattoo, the only one facing regret is you. [It was meant as a joke, and it was spoken nonchalantly.]

You speak truth, friend. There are no true consequences here. Simply some momentary pain, and a lifetime of artwork on my skin. None are affected apart from myself.
