Uh. Hello? To anyone who might be listening to this, my name is Malcolm Bright. I have no idea how I got here, but apparently that's not unusual. After speaking with Jerry and a few of the other travelers... I still have questions. [ Malcolm will always have questions about everything. ] Has anybody been doing this for a long time?

[ He pauses to lift his cup and take a drink of his coffee. ] Oh and thanks to... [ He squints at the cup and then reads off of it. ] Stark..bucks, for at least making a halfway decent cup of coffee. If anyone knows where to find a hard drink, I'd appreciate that information too. Thanks.

Let's say more than two months.

Then I just about qualify. It's been almost two months since I first found myself transported here.

Well, not here exactly, but the last world. The snowy one before it thawed.

Do you remember if there were any similarities between this place and the last one?

On the surface, none.

Although it does appear that somehow the same shops and residences are here, just made with a fresh coat of paint, so to speak.

Yeah, I've heard that the tower has been following the group from place to place.

I wonder if we're not actually changing places, but the places are somehow changing around us.

It's possible. Or our perception is what's being manipulated.

That's possible too.

When I first woke up on the train, I was wondering if I was having a psychotic break or a nightmare.

I didn't find it so startling but then I've crossed dimensions before.

[ A quirk of an eyebrow. ]

So this is kind of old hat for you?

In a way. I'm used to bizarre things occurring in my world.

Although last time I encountered somebody else crossing dimensions, they were doing so to murder me.

[prodigalmess]

[ He definitely looks like he's used to bizarre things. ]

Sounds flattering, them going to such lengths just to kill you.

It was terrifying. I just wanted to be left alone.

[prodigalmess]

Sorry. I was trying to downplay it. [ Not the route he should have gone. ] I work as a cop, so people have tried to kill me too. They've just never crossed dimensions to do it.

The thing is, he was after me for something I hadn't even done. Not personally.

It was something I had the potential to do.

Something another version of myself had done in his dimension. Something I wasn't about to do in mine but he still came and killed me for it. Or thought he did.

That sounds like the plot of a sci-fi movie.

That's my everyday life. The world is full of super-powered heroes and villains, all vying for attention or power or riches.
