[For anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of meeting Loki's smarmy grin face to face, they're greeted with it now, as he broadcasts across the network from what appears to be the outdoor seating area of Starkbucks for anyone familiar.]

Well, I for one am pleased to learn the locals are capable of more than derisive glances, as they are certainly excited about this circus coming to town.

[He doesn't speak for two seconds, and a conversation at a nearby table can be overheard, bits of pieces of someone rambling about a caravan.]

Evidently we can expect exotic animals and other stunning spectacles. Maybe we'll even have a jester, or a magician. Wouldn't that be fun?

[He smirks.]

Who doesn't love a good illusion?

[While on the one hand, Adam's had enough illusions and magic to last a lifetime, he was also intrigued with the idea of a circus.]

I've never been to a circus before. Though...it is a little odd that they're coming in from...whatever's out there.

[There had to be something out there, right? Sure, they were in a pocket dimension but how big was it exactly?]

At the very least, it'll break up the monotony.

Isn't it? I wonder if they'd be forthcoming with information if we asked where they'd come from.

[He raises an eyebrow.]

Monotony? New dimensions are old hat for you, then?

Somehow, I doubt it.

[But it could never hurt to ask.]

No, but. All I've done is work lately. [And avoid his housemates, or be avoided by them. Things were complicated.] It'll be nice to have something that isn't work. I'm sure a circus will lift some spirits.

Surely someone can persuade them.

Yes, let us all go watch others work for a change.

Maybe. But I wouldn't be able to. I'm not very good with words.

[It was one of the things he hadn't been able to master yet, no matter how much he watched people like his best friend, Gansey. Adam was normally a quick study, but talking to people...that was hard.]

Yeah. Hopefully, the circus isn't too expensive, though.

[He doubted everything would be free. Because if it was, how would the performers make a living? Besides that, he'd feel bad if things were free. It wasn't even like he didn't have a bunch of money saved up from working, he was just...strict with his money.]

Really? That's unfortunately.

[He said, devoid of sincerity.]

Yes, because we've all been spending far too much on all the luxuries Haven has brought to bear.

Back home, there were times when my family couldn't even afford toothpaste.

[His words were clipped, a little defensive.]

I'm not used to spending money on anything that isn't strictly necessary.

[It was a hard habit to kick, even in this place where he had a decent amount saved up that was just sitting around with nothing to spend it on.]

Doesn't that give you more reason to relish what's been provided?

You know what they say; old habits die hard. Things might be easier here, but what if it all changes one day?

[He really struggled a lot with money issues. And don't even get him started on how complex and emotionally explosive giving gifts could be.]

True, but what if that change is for the better?

Then I guess I'll have a lot of extra money.

[There was no such thing as having too much money. Unless you let it go to your head, like some people he knew.]

[For the briefest of moments, he froze. The idea of sharing what he had never really crossed his mind.]

I've never had enough money to share, before. I'm...not sure who I'd share with.

Oh. That explains a lot. I don't mean any offense, it's just hard for some people to understand what it's like to struggle with money.

I suppose it is, though that struggle isn't one afflicting anyone here. We're provided shelter, food, a means of employment.

[He chose his words carefully before he spoke again.]

I'm glad no one has to struggle here. I'm only saying that it doesn't erase what people have gone through in the past.

It doesn't, no.

[He chooses his next words carefully as well, not wanting to put off the others and all that.]

And even though not all of us has struggled with funds, I believe all of us have struggled in some way.
