[Jake had a lot of questions, and it was like a blast from the past to suddenly be around other people, to have a phone and wi-fi and all of the things that came with living in a town. No longer would he be huddled around a campfire in-between the Entity's calls. Maybe.]
Is this place really outside of the Entity's realm?
Has anyone here even HEARD of the Entity?
[Please, tell him he was safe. Tell him there would be no more running and torture, death and dying.]

I will be. Is this a nice place?
sorry jake but you're evies friend now. this is just your life.
It can be! The locals are very wary of newcomers, so please be careful. I've had people attempt to pick my pockets a time or two, but I also grew up with thieves and people with very sticky fingers.
[ She knows what to look out for, is what she's saying. ]
Your Entity, they sound entirely unsafe, just from you saying my reaction was the right one. So I'm glad you're away from it. My name is Evie.
he will reluctantly accept this, lmao
I'll keep an eye out for that kind of activity, thank you for telling me.
[He wasn't particularly worried, but he'd stay cautious.]
Unsafe's one way to put it. I think it gets off on torturing people.
I'm Jake.
he has no choice. and anyway, it's evie. how can people not want to be her friend?
Watch out for a group of kids playing loudly in the market. It seems they like to distract people by starting a fight while one of their older friends goes around and steals. It's usually near the vegetable vendor, once or twice they've tried it near Starkucks.
he's just not used to having 'friends', he's a loner
[At least if you were doing it because you needed the money, he could understand that, even sympathize a little, but doing it out of maliciousness? No.]
I'm used to taking care of myself. I don't think I'll have too much trouble.
[But he'd stay cautious anyway.]
Have you been here long?
no subject
Ah...roughly a year, I think? Somewhere around that.
no subject
That's longer than I expected. I guess this place can't be too bad, then.
Also is ending up with your...actual home here, normal?
