[There's a lot of grumbling as the audio starts. Beast is hardly going to show himself off to the populace at large right off the bat, given his startling appearance. That's a good way for people to turn up with the torches and pitchforks. There's a lot of muttering in his deep, growly voice.]

No--No--No! That's not right-- Maybe if I-- Oh da--

[And the audio cuts out. It's restored a few minutes later and this time he at least seems to be certain he's recording.]

I was wondering if anyone here is familiar at all with magic and curses?

[Might as well get a general sense of what everyone here thinks about the subject before he decides to reveal himself as a big, possibly scary monster.]

I'll be the first to admit I'm not the easiest person to love. But it's been even harder than I thought.

[No wonder Beast had become so angry and depressed before Belle came along. He'd spent nine years without any hope whatsoever.]
