[ This was not how Lara wanted to introduce herself at all. In fact, she wasn't sure yet she even wanted to greet everyone this soon, but she'd just had something quite strange happen, and she wanted some answers. She looks baffled, mildly alarmed even, when she turns on the FluxPhone to post a message, seated on the couch in the living room of her apartment at Honeywell and glancing occasionally in the direction of the front door. Is she expecting something? Well, yes. In some small way, she was expecting...oh, just...let her explain it. ]


I've just had a rather odd experience, and I was wondering if odd experiences were common here in Wechester.

[ Another glance at the front door and it's clear from the look on her face that she is trying to figure out What the Actual Fuck just happened. ]

I was trying to leave my apartment to run some errands before work, but instead of opening to the hallway of my apartment building...

[ Wait for iiit. ]

I was um...facing one of the lions in the zoo. In his habitat. He wasn't here in my building. I'd almost stepped right into his enclosure at the zoo.


Has...has that happened before for anyone else? And is this common here?

[ A slow inhale and a sigh, trying to center herself and really get a hold on her wild thoughts before she gives the feed a smile that looks tired. ]

I might also be going mad, but if anyone else has had an experience like this, please let me know. I'd love to see if we can figure out why something like this has happened.

I nearly walked off the roof of a tall apartment building this morning. The problem is that I was leaving my house to go out. I don't live in an apartment at all.

[ Lara doesn’t mean to laugh, but honestly she’s sort of relieved right now. It’s an odd thing to be relieved about, she’s very aware. So her laugh is short lived and she immediately looks apologetic. ]

Not quite yet. I went to put towels in the linen closet and it was the kitchen of a restaurant somewhere. So I'm a bit hesitant.

I've been keeping all my doors open that were open before. I keep trying to get up the courage to try my front door again but I guess I'm nervous.

Do you think it's all by chance or is there something else going on?

My flatmate suggested it's something to do with our arrival. I've started wondering if that very thing disrupted something. I'd love to figure out what, but I've no clue how to even start investigating it without knowing more of Wechester

All of my schooling in archaeology and my limited experience in solving the mysteries of unknown places and I'm at a loss.

The linen closet by your room opened into the kitchen of one of the restaurants in town.

I haven't had this happen yet, but I'll avoid using as many doors as I can until this is situated.

Perhaps it's something to do with all of our arrivals here?

It's possible we disrupted something. I don't like thinking about that, but considering this place has pulled in others before us, maybe there's a problem somewhere?

I've discovered if I leave doors open, they lead to where they're meant to. That's going to make life interesting.

We could be the cause, or we could simply be an effect. I think something was disrupted before we arrived, but it's now getting worse.

We can expect things to just get weirder from here.

I think you're right. We might be a symptom of what's going on, and not the reason for it. If others arrived the same way we did, that rules us out as being what's caused this. At least, one can hope.

Remind me to tell you about the angry queen from Yamatai. And the many unusual people I've met back home. Weird is a common theme for me, lately.

Not quite like this, but I'd love to figure out the whys behind it all.

It's always possible, but until this point I hadn't really noticed anything that would show this place has magic.

Yes and no? There have been a few stores and stuff that kind of move around sometimes, but this is the first where doors open up to someplace different.

I was actually trying to get to school one morning, but every time I tried to leave the house I would always end up right back inside. I'd step out of the front door, and find myself back in the living room. Eventually I had to give up because I couldn't go anywhere.

Some of the stores move? What do you mean, they move?

They're not always in the same place you find them. Like, some stores are normal and...y'know, stationary. But there are some things that you can find in one place, and in a few days might end up across town.
