But I'm not sure how fond I am of a place that rips your family from you and makes them forget you entirely.

That's...kinda the thing. Nothing happened. It was like...some of the things that happened to be me back home just...didn't.

Stuff that changed me, helped me learn...never took place.

Oh, I see, that would be like if I never left the castle. Well, then you got a chance at something all sorts of people have always longed for, Miles.

[ He tries to think, but for some reason the answer isn't coming to him so easily. ]

You get to answer the "what if" question. I ask myself that from time to time, I think everyone does. What if my mother had stayed alive? What if my father had?

Things like that.

And you have your answer to that.

I guess that's true. It wasn't really a question I'd been asking about this event specifically, but since it happened anyway, I guess it's good that I know.

No, nor did I wonder what it would be like to have family and then lose it. But it is an answered question all the same, and I am not upset to know it.
