Citizens of Driftcrest have started to disappear at an alarming rate. You can't even get into the Ice Statue Garden without a fear of being trampled. The situation is going to escalate into a panic that we'll need to deal with... even if we aren't native to the reality.

Time to pool together what we've learned. Post what you've found about the Unseen or history of Driftcrest. I think it's time we start moving forward with a plan.

Especially our caped hero types. We all know you're here. Share what you've got.

I'm Bruce Wayne. I ran a billion dollar multi-corporation in my home reality, and now sit on the board of Wechester Enterprises. Mr. Wechester is always keeping an eye on what we do--as it's obvious we're not native to any of these realities. Don't be surprised if I bring up questions or concerns he ever has. Never thought I'd be a liaison.

[ And there is the siren sounds going off in Bruce Wayne's head. Oddly enough, it has a similar ring to the World Engine that landed itself in Metropolis. The one that destroyed nearly the whole damn city, while Superman and the other Kryptonian destroyed the rest.

Namely because of the similarity of the conversation. The username pointing to certain areas of the landscape of the USA. Now, the Daily Planet.

There's one thing he can think of to respond with that. Just to try and prod a bit more. ]

Daily Planet -- is that the one I own in Gotham or the one in Metropolis?

[ Yes, yes, Bruce. You've probably got the right idea. Clark is staring down at his communication device, about 99.2% Bruce Wayne doesn't own either Planet building. But, admittedly, he didn't thoroughly vet the paper's owners. So maybe that's on him. ]

Right... sorry. It's just been awhile since I've been back home. Feels like six months sometimes. Or, maybe I'm just forgetting details in my old age of forty-three.

I'm presuming you're new to the Planet. Obviously you're new here to Driftcrest. You'll need to forgive my lack of manners. We're a bit stressed at the moment. How about some reintroductions?

Just recently hired, yes. And very new to this place. Which makes me worry a little about the job I left behind at home. Hopefully it'll still be waiting for me when we figure out how to leave here.

Clark Kent. Daily Planet, you're already aware of. I'm not seeing much irony, unless you mean serving on the board of a company you don't own.

There it is -- the confirmation.

Bruce presses his lips together and stands up from his chair. He moves to the large window in his office at Wechester Enterprises. A hand drags down his face and he crosses his arms. How the hell do you begin to address any of this? Then again, Clark obviously has no idea who he really is. Has he not lived through all that?

The multiverse is one thing. Now there's different points in time.

The world used to be simple.

He looks the text over again. ]

Some of us have far too many of those days.

Well, I've been here six months and you haven't heard of the disappearance of Bruce Wayne, have you? It seems like we'll just come and go at the whims of the universe at this rate.

That would be the irony I mean.

No, I haven't. Which is, I suppose, a good sign? Someone with your social prestige would be harder to conceal than, say, some nameless guy in a crowd.

[ Which Clark was, up until quite recently. It's still sobering to consider how much his life has changed in what feels like a short span of time. ]

The universe seems to have always had those. Perhaps you're more sensitive to them now.

I've learned that at least one person cares about the people in the crowd that go missing. Even if the media chooses not to focus on them.

[ He can keep up the idea that nothing is wrong. He's been doing it his whole life -- this is just harder. Thank God it's in text messages, because he would imagines it is far beyond obvious that something is wrong.

It takes a moment more to respond as he messages Diana. ]

Or maybe something happened that opened my eyes to the fact we're not alone in the universe.

[ obvious comment is obvious, but he just wants to make sure the two of them are on the same page. or near it.

and then Clark has to stare at the last bit for a few minutes, because it hits just a little too close to home. ]

Shakespeare once wrote 'There are more things in heaven and earth, than are dreamt of in your philosophy'. I like to think he was anticipating a more advanced understanding in the centuries to come. The universe is a living, breathing force.

Sooner or later, I'm sure humanity will find friends in the cosmos.

Aren't the loved ones all that matter?

[ As close to being on the same page as possible. Bruce tends to make sure to stand a distance from Clark. The man obviously doesn't know what is about to happen, otherwise, the conversation would be much different. ]

Or it was just some flower-y language to help sell a play. The man was a genius, but, knew what he had to do in order to keep himself employed as an artist.

You sound confident that the ones out in the cosmos are more friend than enemy.

Everyone should matter.

[ True, heartfelt, and not exactly what they're talking about but Clark can't help himself. It's how he feels. Even in certain cases that didn't turn out well. ]

Oh, I'm just banking on statistics. The whole universe can't be a hostile place. Somewhere out there, there's goodness and friendship trying to find others like them too.

They should. Still, the human experience prioritizes certain things over others.

[ This is why he's the Superman. He can do things that the rest of them can't. Though, that's information best kept to himself... and Diana. Who he is texting on the other line to set certain things up. ]
