[ The feed clicks on to show the familiar scene of the nice long wide beach. Beautiful blue waters, nice weather, and a very steady image. Then it flips over to show the man holding it: one Bruce Wayne, dressed in his business suit. Though, many people may not him. He's already gathered most of this beach has barely heard of Wayne Enterprises, let alone "The Bat." ]
I can't remember the last time I was on a beach this gorgeous without any company. [ The nice smile, the persona of Bruce Wayne. ] Bruce Wayne. Although, I gather most people may not have even heard of that name. I guess you're not famous in every universe, right?
[ Ha, ha. He smirks at his own joke (though, he is already groaning inside). ] I'm looking for some more information on this place. I'll take anything, really. Even if it is just the best place to grab a bite to eat.

[ He's not sure if that's the best way of putting it. But, Bruce has an image to keep up. Just in case. ]
Magic, like Merlin or Vegas? [ He gives a brief nod. ] Mr. Gansey... unless that's too formal.

[At least it had for Gansey. Believing in magic and seeing wonders hadn't quite prepared him for Cabeswater no matter how calm he'd seemed during their initial forays into the forest.]
Like Merlin. Actually, Glendower and his magicians, but he's not as well known as Arthur.
Just Gansey, if you don't mind. Mr. Gansey is usually reserved for my mother's political events.

[ He's doing his best not to sound snappy. But, part of him isn't going to let himself forget. He failed his people. Even if Superman turned out better than what he thought... ]
I admit my Arthurian knowledge must not be up to date. [ Note to self: investigate that. ] Ah, I see. So you're used to the high class of society then.

[Cabeswater had been a major change, but Gansey had already believed in magic. The other factors, the ones that had made him more willing to believe, had taken more time.]
It took time for me to realize that everyone was wrong and I wasn't crazy.
Your Arthurian is probably up to date. It's not common knowledge that the type of magic that's described in the legends could be real.
[His expression becomes slightly artificial, the bland smile that he gives potential donors and supporters.]
I spent most of my time overseas, but I became more of a fixture for her campaign after I returned home.

[ He frowns at that. It took him time too - when he was a boy. That was a long time ago. Most people would say becoming a masked vigilante isn't really coping. ]
Magic.
[ An eyebrow raise. ]
Where at overseas?

I've seen the unexplained, miracles and wonders during my travels. Magic is part of the world just as much as electricity and the laws of physics.
[He smiles as he considers how to answer the question about his quest.]
Most of Europe, mostly focusing on the British Isles. I spent a few weeks in South America because I needed to see the Nasca lines. I crisscrossed America following ley lines. I went wherever there was a hint of Welsh history or magic.

[ Hm. Well traveled. ]
Well, as long as you didn't find yourself in too many places that were shady.

[The question isn't asked to be rude. By nature, he's curious, especially when things relate to magic and people's belief in it. Usually his discussions are dismissed as eccentricity, not a valid form of research.]
Most people don't see the magic around them. From what I've learned, magic is a form of energy that can be measured. Or its source can be. Measuring what can be done with it is something I've never attempted since I've been focused on finding Glendower, not explaining the miracles I've experienced.
I spent most of my time in universities and museums. The most questionable thing I did was sneak into pubs when I was underage.

[ He figures that is a good enough answer. It's not hostile, but a bit obvious there is more to his answer than one would think. ]
Makes sense. [ And it does, really. Most people try to say magic is a mystical thing that can't b e understood. Energy? That's something he can believe in. ] So, it's a matter of manipulating the energy that you find.
Glendower? I'm not familiar with that name.

[More than most people would expect. Gansey has years of experience hiding his feelings, coping with certain events in his life through actions and research.]
It's part of the reason why I'm searching for answers.
I'm not certain if it's exactly like that. I don't have enough hard data to be certain. Energy is needed, but I don't know if most people have the potential to manipulate it. I do know that there are sites that hold more of that energy and there are people who can use it to do wonderous things.
[Pausing, his eyes brighten with the possibility of explaining his passion, but he knows that his enthusiasm isn't always greeted with approval.]
The short answer is that Glendower is a lost, Welsh king. I'm searching for him. The long answer is something more mythical.

Welsh. I definitely don't know much about that. Any personal relation to this mystical lost king?

I wish I knew more about magic and ley lines, but I was focused on tracking them and what magic was possible, not the science related to them.
The story is similar to that of King Arthur. A lost king that is promised to return. Later, I can give the story the attention it deserves, if you'd like. I've been trying to find him for years.
[Here's the tricky part, the part where most people decide that Gansey is eccentric. Rarely crazy. Those with bank account as large as his are rarely called crazy.]
When I was ten years old I nearly died. Not a close call, but actual dying. During what should have been my last moments, I heard a voice say that I would live because of Glendower. Since then, I've been searching for him. I was getting close, before I arrived here.
[Which makes being caught in a pocket dimension incredibly frustrating.]
Since I can't search here, I'll have to find another project to occupy my mind.
