Does anyone know what happens if we aren't inside by eight PM? Like...has anyone managed to duck the people patrolling at that time (I'm assuming there are people patrolling, otherwise how would the curfew be enforced, right?)

Because I gotta say; that's a seriously creepy level of quiet after everyone's inside.

[ Gwen's in the park, and it's snowing. She's dressed for the weather.

There's a smile on her face as she walks through the park, glancing upward as snow falls down around her. With a backpack over her shoulder, it's clear she's coming home from school. ]

I don't know what the official word is on snow-days at the schools, since there are also options to study virtually, but if the snow starts sticking and all? I say giant snowball fight in the park. Who's in?

[ Because let's be honest, that'd be so much fun. ]

[ Gwen's face appears on screen. She's at the music store, on her shift and while there's a chance to see the look of irritation on her face, there's a loud bang and some swearing from off-screen. Gwen jumps and turns to look at the faint line of smoke coming out of the back room and she addresses her ~~NPC~~ coworker. ]

Holy crap, dude. Are you okay?

[ There's more swearing, anger pretty palpable as a very tall man with a thin body frame stomps out of the repairs room. He's a bit sooty and singed and pissed and Gwen steps out of his way, watching him head outside to catch some fresh air. ]

Ooooh-kay. So! Our previous instrument repair person, Agatha, is gone. Her castle is no longer in town, nor is the very road it lived on. I know this because I went to drop off something of hers and it's...literally just not there. It's probably a good thing she's gone because she's kind of in trouble right now.

See...nowhere in her job description did it say she could weaponize instruments but we just had a couple flutes and a clarinet returned that had some interesting extra features added. The new repair guy, Eitan? He's really good at what he does, but what he does is for actual instruments. Neither of us can figure out how to make these instruments safe again. They're being turned over to the police and anyone that's had an instrument 'repaired' recently...if it's acting funny, bring it by. Financially, this is going to suck, but we'll replace it for you. Cool?

Cool.

[ A sigh, a shake of her head and Gwen turns off her feed just as Eitan comes back inside and heads to the repair room to keep working. ]

My danger sense is flipping out. I'm cancelling my classes for tonight and going home. I cannot believe my place of zen and peace was screwed over so badly by this.

Hello, everyone! I wanted to tell you guys about something pretty cool my school, Wechester High, is doing. As a lot of you know, it's a pretty cool hybrid school. In one half we have all the fun STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) classes. In the other half, it's dedicated to the arts. Music. Dancing and other various artistic media one can think of. It's pretty amazing.

My school is doing a concert/fundraiser in the park next weekend. From the 23rd to the 25th there will be live music, various dance performances, and art displays around the park. Along with various and really neat items from the culinary arts department in my school. The food items will be on sale, and there will be demonstrations of various gastronomic techniques and a lot of those classes will explain the science behind what they're doing.

Not only that, but there will be some neat demonstrations from the STEM side of the school, too. I don't know what, I was just tasked with promoting the arts side of things.

And I'll be on stage a few times. There'll be a few performances from the school rock band (i know right what school has one of those), a couple performances from the dance squad I'm part of. So please be there. It'll be a good time. I promise.

Mr. Wechester has seen some increasing interest in the building, especially after it appeared to us in Flux. He's sending a formal request, through me, that the activity cease. He feels its interrupting business and frankly, rude. He's only asked me because I'm the only one on the Board that is not native to the area.

At lunch today, everyone kept asking me what I was going to be for Halloween and if Mr. Stark gave full-sized candy bars.

I told them I would be me and they laughed.

What do they mean then? I don't feel like I can really ask them what does "what will I be for Halloween?" mean. And what is a "full-sized candy bar" and why should Mr. Stark be giving them to anyone?

Soon after, the mayors face appears on televisions and her voice comes over the radio. She sounds very no-nonsense, slightly worried, but keeping it together. ]

Good evening, citizens of Beachville. As you're all aware by now, we have a tropical storm coming our way. Our weather experts have been keeping an eye on it, hoping for the best case scenario wherein Elora turns and misses us, but such is not the case.

[ She frowns some, folding her hands on the top of the table, straightening herself again as she continues on. ]

Until the weather changes for the better, students at the school are to check in virtually using the Beachville Virtual Academy application on your devices. Check in, check your inbox. We've already sent you a schedule for your classes, along with links to your webmeetings.

As for the rest of town, it's advised no one leaves their homes until Elora has passed us by. The wind conditions are dangerous, clocking in at around seventy miles per hour, and visibility is highly limited.

The boardwalk and all attractions therein, along with the beach, are closed for the safety of everyone involved.

Gladio, I know vaguely from my time on what was called the Void Train, and running into him gives me just a bit of hope that others from the train are here. [ A one shouldered shrug and she pushes some of her blue hair off of her shoulder, grinning broadly. ]

I... I'm to attend school here but... I don't... I've never been to a "modern" school. I don't know what to bring or what to expect.

What if the teacher and other students don't like me? [First grade is scary in any place, especially when you're not even in your own home. The only child her age who is not native is Shinich and well... he's not a typical 7-year-old. Neither is she, for that matter.]

I think it bears mentioning that the coffee sop on Main? The really cool mom-and-pop one run by that awesome hipster couple? It's no longer there. It was yesterday, but now it's on Star Drive and while these people look like the same hipster couple? It's apparently a kitten cafe that's, according to them, "always been there" and "they've never had a business on main."

Also like 99 percent sure that the place they're in now was an antique store yesterday.

D-did anyone else see the flyers around town? About the Food and Film Festival? I dunno about anyone else, but I think it sounds kinda cool. Sort of makes me miss the food trucks in Seattle. Plus, movies on the beach sounds pretty amazing, right?
