There was a thing with a school bully picking on one of the smaller kids and, to quote Hamilton...

That little kid with the Pikachu backpack? I don't remember his name. But that bigger jerk in our gym class was teasing him and the kid looked on the verge of tears. I told him to back off. He told me to fuck off...

i must have missed that. i think is was still getting reamed for that minor explosion in chemistry-which i maintain wouldnt have happened if the equipment wasnt faulty.

The equipment in the lab is questionable, I'll give you that. Which is weird considering everything else is pretty amazing.

But yeah. Quick version:

Guy was picking on Pikachu Backpack Kid. I went up and told him to back off. He laughed at my efforts, which...mistake number 2, mistake 1 being picking on the kid in the first place.

I stepped between him and the kid and he told me to fuck off.

I punched him and said "you fuck off first." And that's about when the principal rounded the corner.

I was about to ask what on earth you could have done to earn detention but standing up to the little people is always a good reason.

Yeah, I mean...it's not like...the best first impression I could have given my teachers?

But I also didn't want this kid to think it was okay to pick on people. Hopefully, now he knows that Gwen Stacy will in fact chase him down if he does it again. Detention is worth it.

Perhaps not but also the fact that it shows you stand up for what you believe in is a good thing.

I once got detention for the same thing when I was younger, and the principal called my dad to get me out of school for the day.

He took me out for ice cream. Told me to maybe be smarter about how I de-escalate situations, but that was some pretty amazing Rocky Road.

But like I said, if this kid tries it again, I'll defend people again. It's just how I roll.
