I would hazard we wandered into an inter-dimensional trash heap, save for how contrived our arrival was and how suspiciously welcoming the man in the greeting booth is. I imagine he knows far more than he divulges.

I would assume our captors are familiar with whatever talents we possess, spoken or no. I, for instance, possess many, but if they believe I'll use them to their benefit they are sorely mistaken.
