Okay...so I think we can all agree that the people here are pretty...grumpy, to put it nicely. And to be honest, I can't say I really blame them, but I tend to get a little nervous when people give me the kind of looks that the town folks have been giving us on the regular.

I think I might've found something that could help, though. You've probably noticed that the people here really like color. Kinda hard not to see it; there are paintings everywhere, people sporting all kinds of crazy clothes and body art. And no one really minds if you put up some art on any available wall. I've kinda been doing a lot of it since we got here, and while it hasn't exactly gotten people to warm up to me - yet - I do get far less dirty looks for just being around.

So that might be a good place to start? Decorating houses, or workplaces, or whatever so that we blend in a bit more - or stand out, I guess. Maybe it'll get the people around here to lighten up a little more around us? At the very least, they might like seeing more art out there.

And I'd be happy to help out if anyone needs it. This is kinda my thing.

There are wires and other electrical components around, and he seems to be tinkering with something, which is probably why he put the phone on a stand in the first place.]

You really think that'll work? I kind of get the impression we're outsiders and they don't trust us...

...which is weird, because I recognize some faces and they seem like different people.

Oh, they absolutely don't trust us. And it is pretty weird, but nothing about this place is really normal anyway.

This definitely isn't a foolproof plan, or any kind of long-term solution. It's really just breaking the ice.

Mostly because I might've...already tagged a few houses.

It's what I've been doing it since we got here. Like I said, tagging walls is the only time they haven't been looking at me funny. I've even gotten a nod or two from people that watch me do it.

I work at a repair shop, we see all kinds of stuff. These are new, at least to me, but I'm pretty good at figuring things out on my own.

If not, I can always get more. I get a discount at the craft store, so I can stock up.

Well, I find that it's easier to cooperate and get more info about what's going on when the people we need to talk to don' hate our guts.

It's a weird toaster, I know, but from what I can tell it is, yeah. The good news is electronics really only work in so many different ways.
