It doesn't have to be a conspiracy to be a theory, but I'll bite. Where do you think the food comes from, or why the insides of the apartments look the same like they're on a movie set?

These people have. Has no one told you about the invisible monsters they had to defeat in the last place?

I've heard of it vaguely. Monsters aren't really anything new to me.

That's not my point. What I mean is we've already had to deal with something in another version of this place that the locals couldn't. Maybe we're here because something needs to be done about this place. Maybe they're using us.

They wouldn’t be so unfriendly if that were the case. Or do you mean this place is using us?

I mean I'm thinking whatever moves us to different realities is using us.

Personally, I like things to be straightforward. Wondering who's a double-agent, or what disaster's going to strike whenever you wake up in the morning's exhausting.

You get used to it. Looking over my shoulder has become more than just a hobby.
