as someone thats pretty familiar with social workers, it's much less the kids they're housing they care about and more getting you settled as fast as they can. when my parents died they didn't really talk to me much and just talked to my parent's lawyer.

when my uncle died they only really talked to May to see if she still wanted to look after me which really pissed her off but you gotta jump through hoops with those people so. the only thing they really ask is, and i quote 'is there someone else you can stay with?'

I didn't have social workers, though. My village was too small and set in its ways.

as a kid thats talked to too many, i can honestly say they suck. kids are just numbers and paperwork to them most of the time.

I was the last heir to a noble family, and so I was simply expected to...be a Lady. But I didn't really have any help.

It's hard when you're alone no matter what situation you're in, I think.

No. That's horrible.

The closest I even had was the family gardener, but he lived on premises, and I didn't see him very much. My house was much too big for one person. And no one liked me anyway.

I got used to it though. And you seem stronger than I was back then.

as much as i want to say 'wreck people's lives' that's a little callous.

they're assigned by the state or government or whatever to find places for kids to live when their current parent or guardian either won't, or can't take care of them according to child abuse and neglect laws.

its never a good day when a social worker turns up at your door.

it would have been routine except that i have no idea where Mr Jace is rn and i guess that means i have to be rehoused again.

no, but im still a minor and they think that i cant just live on my own.
