[ Johnny's actually got his face in frame today, so kudos for that, but he looks pretty rough this morning. Definitely shocked and more than a little confused. ]

hey so I'm Johnny and apparently I'm your guardian now? I got a text with your picture but I figured it'd be easier to just reach out. want to meet at Starkbucks to try to figure this out?

[A shrug and a small smile, pressing a couple more buttons and sending the list out. ]

That, and I can almost hear my mother fretting over an empty fridge.

[ So, she knows already he's not out to harm her. That's good. She can appreciate that, very much so. And since someone assigned him her guardian, it didn't make sense for him to live elsewhere. So Tabatha has a suggestion. ]

Someone somewhere seems to think I do, and that's fine. Haven is, so far...keeping me on my toes. I wouldn't mind if you moved into this house. That seems to make more sense.

[ He chuckles, soft and almost like he doesn't realize he's doing it, but he shakes away the thought and focuses on the rest of it. Yeah, his mom was usually a pretty good homemaker too. ]

Yeah, at least you missed the glitches, that was a b-- problem.

[ Yeah. He can adult. Absolutely. ]

If you're sure? I mean, I'd say you could move into my apartment but if you've got this house it doesn't really make sense for you to move, yeah.

Glitches?

[ That sounds disconcerting. Tabatha's smile fades and she just looks worried. ]

What do you mean, glitches?

Oh, it's over now, you don't have to worry about it. Just like...your muscles would get all weird all of a sudden and people would see your memories?

[ He's trying not to make it sound as bad as it was, especially with that look on her face. He doesn't want to scare her right away, he's already probably going to screw this up. ]

That sounds awful.

[ She's seen quite a few interesting things in her life, both from the mortal perspective and the witch perspective. She could tell so many stories of all of the magic used around her. From Grandmama Endora's spells on her father, to her Aunt Clara botching the most basic of spells and causing chaos.

But this glitching thing sounds bad. As did seeing other people's memories. ]

I'm glad I missed it, and I'm sorry Haven went through that.

[ He shrugs, a thousand percent more casual than he actually feels about it, but it's...whatever. It happened, it's over, he can live with it. ]

At least it's over with now.

[ Tabatha watches her guardian for a moment, resting a hand on her hip casually. She can see through him trying to act casual about things and wants to poke at it. Just casually. Something small. ]

How weird can this place get? I've heard someone mention it changes sometimes?

[ A small gesture from Tabatha, hand lifting and curling as if she's holding a bottle, thumb flicking upward as if she's popping a cap off of said bottle and just like that, a frosty bottle of Coke appears in her empty hand, bottle cap landing at her feet. Just to see how he'll react. ]

Can't help you much there, I haven't been here that long.

[ And that would have been the end of it if the bottle hadn't appeared out of nowhere. He shoves himself back reflexively, expression nothing short of shocked. ]

It's fine. I'll figure it out, I'm sure. And...

[ A faint wrinkling of her nose, the look apologetic. ]

I probably should have done this another way. I'm a witch. Broom-riding, cauldron stirring, spell-casting witch.

[ He still looks shocked, still keeps his distance largely because he doesn't have any experience with this. That's Hollywood shit, or Vegas, it's not real. ]

How did you do it, though? Because that's gotta be a trick.

[ As she'd said previously. Sort of. ]

I'm kind of...not supposed to? Back home? My dad wants my mother and brother and I to keep witchcraft to an almost non-existent level. Wants us to be a 'normal family.' But he married a witch, has a witch for a mother-in-law. A for effort, but it's just a ridiculous endeavor, and has been so for years.
