The feed opens with a close up of Stiles's nose at a less than flattering angle, but he quickly pulls it away and gets it so that his face is mostly in the frame. "So, uh, I may have fallen down a rabbit hole of research and not looked up in, uh. Two months. Did I miss anything important?" He grins, with absolutely no remorse at all.

( He continues his smile, though he blinks at the camera. Annoyed? Never. It was clever word play, after all. )

Occasionally, yes, but not at the moment.

( Though he does finish his wine. The wine here is terrible. It's a means to an end, not a pleasure to sip. )

Who are you, then? I'll not be calling you mischief for several reasons. Mainly that it's my line.

The phone is jostling around, like Stiles just can't stand to sit still even while he's having a conversation. "I'm Stiles, I fix things and also detect stuff... because I'm a detective." Yeah, that sounded like 75% smarter when it was still inside his brain.

He's firing on too many cylinders here, that's the problem. "So, uh, Loki. You're not like, uh, a fox, are you? Like, say, a Kitsune, or anything?" It would be nice if he could just eject thoughts out of his mouth like a normal person, but apparently that's not on today's menu.

None of those things are remotely mischievous.

( He arches an eyebrow, thoughtful as something occurs to him. )

Unless, of course, you use your position of power in order to hide your own capers. Cheeky, but not precisely mischievous. We all must start somewhere, of course.

As for the fox...

( He shrugs. )

I could be. Would that make you more comfortable? Kitsune does mean fox, after all.

"I've had enough fox-on-boy action for one lifetime, thanks," he grimaces when he realizes exactly how that sounds, but then his brain rewinds Loki's words for him and he realizes... "What do you mean you could be?" He squints a little, and suddenly the phone is steady. "What are you, exactly?" and more importantly, how likely was it that Stiles would find himself on the snack menu?

( He smiles. )

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Loki, Prince of Asgard and God of Mischief.

[yourbatman]

"A lesser man would take that as an insult," he replied dryly, but when Loki introduces himself, Stiles' eyebrows go up. "Loki-Loki? Like... the Loki? You look exactly nothing like the pictures."

( A grin. )

Should I take that to mean you're offended?

( He nods, though. )

Yes, it as though one of the chief abilities even Humans know me for is my ability to shapeshift.

[yourbatman]

"Maybe before you said who you are, now I'm just relieved," he grins right back. "To be fair, shapeshifting is pretty sweet. Especially when you're not stuck with like one thing you can change into. It's gotta be convenient."

( His eyes move over the video again, and then there is a shimmer of greenish gold energy over his face and shoulders, after which Stiles is looking...at himself.

Himself with a wolfish grin, but himself, nonetheless. )

Marginally, yes.

[yourbatman]

On the one hand, the display is incredibly cool. On the other, that wolfish grin reminds Stiles far too much of the nogitsune he was possessed by, not so long ago.

"Yeah, you looked waaay better before. Now you just look like you wanna play go."

Well, naturally.

( There's a shimmer across his flesh again, and Loki is back. )

But I'm always 'ready to go', as you say.

[yourbatman]

Stiles lets out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. "I never did get the rules but I guess we pulled off a divine move, anyway. I'll be happy if I never have to play it again."

( He chuckles. )

Now where is the fun in that?

[yourbatman]

"There are plenty of things that are more fun than that. Like eating tacks."

[morethanatrickster]

I suppose if one lacks vision.

[By the shrug, it would seem he's nonplussed regardless.]

Or patience. I lack for neither.
