I am finally free from hell. how’s everyone doing? I got sick and it super sucked. totally all better now though and I could really use some air.

[ it has been so long since he’s been able to put his suit on and it’s way more of a relief to hear the familiar voice of Karen. He immediately asks her to find him a somewhere good for web slinging but his options leave something to be desired. Instead he climbs up to the tallest thing he can find and sits there looking over the city. Sort of city. It’s better than nothing. ]

It's difficult to think of a Spider-Man who isn't the enemy. Even after MJ and I...

[He trails off.]

[ He visibly stiffens at that name. Even after he and MJ what? He doesn't want to think the wrong thing-he really, really doesn't. He sucks in a breath through his nose and lets it out through his mouth. ]

Y-you and MJ...?

[ Does he mean Michelle Jones? Did this guy do something to her? If he did well.. then Peter can't promise he won't hit him. But his gut is telling him it was likely they just had a talk or something, after all he'd definitely think of Spider-Man as an enemy if he hurt her in anyway. ]

[Of course Beck is talking about the one from his world - Mary Jane - who has never even been here but he doesn't know he has to clarify just yet.]

Yes, she trusts me now and we got along so well when we worked together. She's very special.

[He sounds very fond of her.]

[ Maybe it's because of past experience but he is really not liking that tone. He squints suspiciously and ignores Karen's voice telling him his heartrate seems to have elevated. ]

Y-yeah.. she is.

[ How exactly should he proceed here? He doesn't want to assume anything-MJ's tough and she can more than handle herself, he's sure. ]

I don't think she's done that. I mean with a name like that, I think I'd know. Besides, not saying that she couldn't kickass and take names-but w-uh she's fifteen-um I think. I wouldn't really know, but she goes to Midtown Tech.

A group like that attacking a fifteen year old would be on the news. At least I'm pretty sure.

[He's about to explain further but then what Peter says clicks more. Hm. They are from very different worlds, it seems. Although he still thinks he's talking about Mary Jane.]

In my world she's older and we were making a movie. My leading lady and... well, she was also helping a lot behind the scenes as well. I couldn't have gotten the movie finished without her. She's so determined.

[Now he sounds proud.]

And she was willing to believe in me.

[Of course this also may sounds strange that Michelle would be acting in a film.]

[ He's making faces beneath his mask because this sounds way off. Not that he didn't think MJ would be a great actor that didn't really seem much like her. Or if she was in a play it'd be dark and based on a true story. ]

Uh... I think the MJ I know isn't the same one you do-I mean she could be into the arts, I guess? But really I'd think she'd go into politics or journalism. She's kinda obsessed with the truth.

[He pauses, continues on hesitantly.]

I suppose... we could... say this is an introductory meeting.

[And with that he reaches up and removes his helmet. Underneath is a craggy-faced man who looks to be in his late fifties. He has a severe black-haired bowl cut and a nervous expression.]

I'm Quentin Beck.

Oh uh you're.. doing that. Okay.

[ he was not expecting this and he shifts his weight awkwardly before offering his hand to shake. ]

Nice to meet you, Mr Beck. I'm uh.. Spider-Man.

[ He states the obvious. Sorry Quentin, he's not giving up his identity that easily. ]
