Hello, everyone. My name is Matthew Murdock. I've been here for a few weeks now, so I thought I'd finally make an introduction. I think most of my posts are going to be audio from here on out, but I wanted to at least try one video post. So you can put a name to a face, I guess.

I uh, I was a lawyer, at home. And I'm a social service worker, here. I look forward to meeting more of you.

Well here, it means I help place children and teens with their guardians. Then I check in on them to make sure they're settling in well, that they're behaving. That their guardians are taking proper care of them.

Oh, I didn’t realize there was a thing like that here. I guess it only makes sense.

Well I guess this place wants to make sure the kids are being taken care of. Or I would assume, since being a social worker is an option here.

Have you been placed with someone?

Yeah, she's been great-even let me choose which room I wanted to stay in and I think she actually likes having me around so that's nice.

The home you were in before -- the one you were in where you came from. Did they not let you pick a room? Were they not happy to have you there?

Didn't think people usually got to pick their own rooms and no, not at all. It was a family feud thing but they still took care of me.

I mean, I didn't pick my room when I was a kid. I lived in an orphanage, the nuns chose for me. But they made me feel wanted. They let me know how happy they were to have me there.

I'm so, so sorry you weren't treated right, back home. If you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm here, okay?
