[ The speaker is female, dark-haired, and looks to be somewhere in her teens, words flavored with an accent generally found south of the American border. She does not seem impressed. It's not immediately clear, but Laura is close to what passes for the center of town. ]

[ Laura eyes her over the video for a long moment, then nods. ]

Me too. I don't like it.

[ When someone locks you in "unbreakable" cuffs, it's easier to extrapolate what they want. ]

I mean, the roof over my head is great. So is all the food I can want, and the job is nice.

But I want to know what they want. Whoever they might be.

[ It isn't a knock against Charlie, just a statement. Man-made shelter is nice but not completely essential. ]

So you don't know either. [ She frowns. ] My name is Laura.

[ Her nose crinkles a little at the 'nice' bit. In Laura's experience, the only people who think she's halfway nice are the other Terigen survivors. ]

Library. It's quiet. I can put headphones on and listen to music instead of...talking to too many people.

Libraries are okay. [ she appreciates all the books. but, ] Listening to music means someone can ambush you. That's not safe.
