So, uh, hi. My name is Jean Grey. I've also gone by Marvel Girl and Phoenix more recently but...[ she shrugs and chuckles ] not really sure what the point in keeping superhero codenames would be in a place like this. Just Jean seems pretty good to me.

[ She waves a hand. ] Anyway, I've been trying to get to know people. I'm used to living in a school with a lot of people I know. They're loud sometimes but, I dunno, I guess it's different when you know them. I had a question though, to try to get to know people better. Where I come from it's not uncommon for people to have special gifts. What I wanted to ask is, how common is that where you're all from? And if you're comfortable saying, how many of you have gifts? I'll understand if anyone isn't that comfortable talking about their own, where I'm from it's also super common for humans to hate people with abilities. So, no worries if you don't want to talk about it and thank you to anyone that does.

I'm sorry to hear that. The public has known since last century, on a small scale. We're out and about in their faces right now. Well, nicer than that.

Don't be sorry, I've still got some hope that we can turn things around. Especially with the second chance we've gotten. It sounds like people in your world have known a lot longer than people in mine.

It was a brief appearance so many have forgotten, or didn't realize those people had abilities. More have come out recently. It's been a struggle that we still face from some of the public, but most have come around. It's more the government we have to worry about.

That's not surprising. The government tends to flip out about things like that. At least where I'm from they do. I think it's because they see us all as potential weapons and threats.

[havenomercy]

Exactly. Yet we work with them when we need to.

[iseegoblins]

That's pretty cool you can work with them sometimes. Do they let you guys do your own thing too?

[havenomercy]

We do more or less what we think is right. If the government doesn't like it, they can chat with me.

[iseegoblins]

What do you do when they want to chat?

[havenomercy]

I tell them they have no jurisdiction over us and they can thank us for saving the world. Again.

[iseegoblins]

It's hard to imagine they just listen to that.

What else are they going to do?

Send giant robots designed to stop superhumans after you?

Well, it's a good thing I own the only company in the country that has the technology to try to make those.

[iseegoblins]

You own a company that can make things like that? Do you make things like that?

[havenomercy]

I make many thing in the name of national defense. Giant robots to counter superheroes is not one of them.

[iseegoblins]

That's good to hear. I hope you never do. They kinda suck.
