I am finally free from hell. how’s everyone doing? I got sick and it super sucked. totally all better now though and I could really use some air.

[ it has been so long since he’s been able to put his suit on and it’s way more of a relief to hear the familiar voice of Karen. He immediately asks her to find him a somewhere good for web slinging but his options leave something to be desired. Instead he climbs up to the tallest thing he can find and sits there looking over the city. Sort of city. It’s better than nothing. ]

[It's impossible not to see the bright green and purple costume down one side street. Beck is tinkering with some robotic parts and putting them together. Then there's a sudden 'pop!' sound and flurry of sparks and a lot of green smoke as if there was a small explosion and as the smoke clears the helmeted and costumed figure appears to have been knocked down and waving at all the smoke. Is he injured? Is he up to something? Either way it may look suspicious.]

[ Peter's spideysense perks up a bit, just a light tingling at the back of his neck. It's not the first time it's gone off since his powers returned but it still has his attention and he looks down to see... something. ]

Well, it's action, at least.

[ He grumbles to himself before hopping down and moving over to the man in the weird outfit. Not that he can really judge. He's literally in a onsie. Thanks Tony. ]

Hey Buddy, what's happening? Your fireworks display not go off like you wanted?

[makeanentrance]

[Mysterio literally and visibly startles.]

Spider-Man...

[He holds his hands out defensively. Very automatically defensive, as if he's been in this position a thousand times before.]

Look, I'm not doing anything wrong. Don't hit me.

[ Well.. that's new. ]

Uh why would I hit you if you're not doing anything wrong? I'm just concerned about the explosion.

[makeanentrance]

Because you've broken my helmet... more times than I can even count.

And it's not so easy to replace here.

[Once the green smoke has cleared, a pile of shattered robotic parts and electronics can be seen on the ground. It's hard to tell what they were supposed to be.]

I have literally never touched your helmet once in my entire life.

[ And it's true. At least this Spider-Man hasn't. He glances over to the pile of broken parts. If he's broken that helmet several times-or a look alike has, then he's a little suspicious but this guy's intentions but so far all he's done is cause an accidental minor explosion. ]

Uh.. do you need some help? I'm pretty good with engineering.

[makeanentrance]

.... You have.

[But hey, that voice does sound a little different... Younger, maybe?]

What... what's your name?

[He ignores the later question for now.]

I really haven't dude. Idk who hit you but it definitely wasn't this Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

[ He just makes a face at that question though, the lenses on his mask mirroring the confused look quite well. ]

c'mon dude, you know I can't answer that-secret identity rules and what not.

Then it must have been an Unfriendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

[He says wryly.]

Secret identity, sure... Even here?

Do you even know who I am?

[babyavenger]

Apparently if he'd going around punching people for no good reason.

[ if it's another version of him then he's sure there's probably something more to it but then isn't that the point of a parallel universe? Who knows what other versions of him there are. ]

Uh... between you an me I'm not a fan of the spotlight if I can't escape from it later. The mask helps.

And no. That's gonna be a negative. Should I know who you are?

You know, I should be hurt not to be recognized.

[He straightens up; a little more pomposity back in his tone and manner. But also some relief.]

I am Mysterio!

[Said with a flourish.]

But I guess only the costume is the same. You're not the Spider-Man I know.

Do these names mean anything to you? The Sinister Six? Kraven? Electro? Vulture? Doc Ock? Sandman?

[ Peter starts to offer a sheepish shrug, ready to apologize that he doesn't know the man but he pauses, the lenses on his mask narrowing slightly. One of those name he does recognize and with a name like the sinister six well, he can guess why another version of himself might have punched the man. ]

Yeah, actually. The Vulture dropped a building on me because I didn't think he should be selling high-tech weapons to criminals.

so, you're telling me you're some kind of super villain?

[makeanentrance]

You know the Vulture but you don't know Mysterio?

[Now he actually sounds offended.]

Son of a...

[He mutters under his breath and cuts himself off. He sighs.]

I'm...

No. I was a super villain. But I'm not doing that racket any more.

In fact, the Vulture would love to drop a building on me as well.

[Different alternate universe Vulture, but still... Last time they'd met up, they'd been fighting on opposite sides.]

Don't take it personally, I've only been at the super hero thing about a year now-maybe a year. I'm not sure. I got my powers in late November and it was like mid-October back home when I turned up here.

[ Which is this really information he should be giving a used to be super villain? Probably not but he also lives with Loki these days so what's the worst that could happen? ]

well, good for you for trying to do better. As long as you stay off the super villain path there's really no reason for me to fight you. I mean-I wanna say that but I didn't kinda prematurely web a guy to his car 'cause I thought he was stealing it. Turns out he just locked his keys inside.

[makeanentrance]

So many Spider-Men assuming people are up to something when they're not...

[He sighs again.]

Listen, I don't want any trouble from you. I was just...

[He waves toward the mess of parts and crouches down, picking one up in a rather forlorn gesture.]

... trying to create something worthwhile.

[babyavenger]

Yeah, not my finest moment but he looked like he was breaking into the car to steal it, okay? It's was in Queens, what else would I think?

[ He just shakes his head at that. ]

God, you make me sound like the bad guy. I don't want to cause trouble for people, I want to help. That's what my whole brand is about-looking out for the little guy.

[makeanentrance]

So you came swooping down here... trying to help me?

[Incredulity in his tone.]

[ He shrugs ]

[makeanentrance]

Think you can rebuild that?

[He points toward the broken parts, not yet explaining what it was supposed to be.]

[babyavenger]

I mean, I gotta know what 'it' is first, but maybe?

[ he kneels down by all the broken parts to get a better look. ]

[He doesn't answer straight away, debating whether to let Peter just work it out for himself. But it wasn't a very clear picture right now and he knew it, so he does reply.]

Robotic legs.

I was trying to get them to walk on their own. One step at a time. Literally and figuratively.

I am working on creating an A.I.

I... should have put together more of their body. Vision, especially, so they could navigate by sight but I... became impatient for results. I think I overloaded the system.

[Now he sounds regretful.]

[ That's not the weirdest thing he's heard of considering he has an AI in his suit. Karen's the best. ]

[ Peter comments, sifting through the parts a little more. ]

Mr Stark is probably the guy to go to for this kinda thing buuut I guess he's no around anymore so I'll see what I can do.

Stark? Do you mean Tony Stark? He wouldn't help me.

I don't even know why you would.

[babyavenger]

[ SHRUG ]

I don't have a reason not to help you so, why not? I like helping people-like I said, it's kinda what I do.

[makeanentrance]

You've never helped me before.

Very much the opposite...

[He pauses, sighs.]

But this place is... different. Which is... good. I think.
