we all have our reasons so im not gonna sit here and try and convince you it's not the bad because it kinda is.
but uh is there a particular reason why? like no one's messing with you, right?
[ Because if someone is bullying his sorta little sister than he and that person are gonna have words. People can pick on him, that's fine, but no one else. ]
Oh, well, there are some boys who pull my hair but no, it's not because of them.
I don't mind some things, but I don't like this strange game called dodge ball! I dislike things being thrown at me and that's the whole point of that silly game!
I could perhaps convince one of the girls to help me. I've made a few friends with them. They're teaching me a game called four-square, I don't mind that at all. [Ahh, the simplicity of first grade and recess.]
Have you ever played it? Four-square, I mean?
It's these two boys in class, I used to sit in front of them. After I told the teacher, she moved my seat but now they do it in physical education. What if I tell the teacher... or ah... coach, and they just do it somewhere else?
yeah, i remember that game. i never played much because i was always kinda the outcast and i had a lot of health issues and family stuff but i played once or twice.
back to these boys though. have you tried kicking them?
no, don't do that, that's not a good idea. what are their names?
An outcast? What's that? What health issues? You seem very healthy to me.
Kicking people is naughty, Mr. Peter. You're not supposed to kick other people even when you're upset. The same way you don't throw things when you're upset.
Corey and Ridge. I've never heard of a name like Ridge before, it doesn't SOUND like a name.
the odd one out, basically. no one wanted to be around me because i was different and too quiet and absent for this and that but that's not important.
you're right-you shouldnt hurt someone just because youre upset but those rules shouldnt and dont if youre acting in self defense-i mean school's a little weird about that i think i got detention once for getting hit but thats not a good story.
the point is-if someone's hurting you, or even just trying to hurt you. dont let them. you fight back. it doesnt matter what the school says because i'll tell you a secret i wish someone had told me-if you let them get away with it now they may try to get away with a lot worse later.
and i promise you Mr stark is not gonna care if you kick someone that's bullying you.
its a stupid thing where im from-people say that if a boy picks on a girl it's because he likes her. which is ridiculous and ignore anyone that tells you that.
yeah but, just cuz theyre gross isnt gonna make them stop picking on you. you have to take a stand-show them youre not gonna just put up with the mistreatment.
if you tell the teacher there's a high chance that's what they'll tell you and you should just try to be friends. my teacher told me to try and make friends and uh. that didn't really go well.
look, the subject of bullying is complicated at best and there's not really a right answer for how to deal with it but there's thousands of wrong answers.
in the end you can really only do what you think is right but if someones trying to hurt you? fight back. who cares what the teacher says? you shouldn't have to put up with poor behavior from others because fighting is against to rules. just don't instigate a fight.
look, ive been through this before-a lot. pretty much everyday of my life and its not fun-its not a life id suggest for anyone and it didn't get better as i got older, it got worse-it stopped being about pushing me around and got more vicious-Flash especially liked to remind me im an orphan as if i could forget and that my family wasnt the wealthiest.
and i don't want you to have to go through what i did. and i realize we dont have the same exact personal issues for people to pick at but they'll find something. they'll find an insecurity and poke it with a stick.
Is a lot to dump on a seven-year-old. Peter means well, but just revealing these kinds of things to a child and expect it to go... fabulously is overly optimistic.
Alice doesn't know what to say. Peter is very clearly hurting and this is less about the boys who pull her hair and much more about whatever it was Peter went through.
Alice doesn't know what to do. And she's trying not to get upset that she doesn't know what to do. So. She does the only thing she can think of.
[It felt wrong making virgin margaritas when you were over the age of.. fifteen or something. He stopped the blender and picked up the phone immediately when he saw who it was.]
Hey sweetie. Are you in the house? I'm making.. uh.. slushies.
[Alice, little flighty child that she is, is momentarily tempted to ask what a slushie is. But no! No, she needs to focus. She will ask what a slushie is later.
[ Uh oh. What has he done now? He runs through a mental list of things he's done recently that Tony might not exactly approve of. It's not like there's any super dangerous crimes or something going on. ]
okay but you should know it exploded on its own and i cant be blamed for faulty lab equipment.

yeah, dodgeball's not my fav either. ive always been the favorite target.
but you could do what i do, get pegged and out as soon as possible and then sit off to the side to read.
i mean, Flash would usually 'accidentally' hit me with the ball as often as he could anyways, but i doubt you'd have to worry about that.
now.
who's been pulling your hair?

[Alice looks at the text. This FEELS like a trick. She was ALWAYS told violence wasn't the answer!]
... Are you tricking me to get me into trouble, Peter? That's not very nice.

im just sick of girls being told to ignore it when a boy picks on her because he likes her and that she shouldnt stand up for herself.

Fighting gets you thrown out of school! Boys got thrown out of university all the time because of fighting.
Why are you trying to get me kicked out? I don't understand! I thought you liked me!

I think something is wrong with Peter.

I think I upset him by talking about school.
