My name is Alan Wake - if you have seen someone here before me who has said that he is Alan Wake, he is lying. That man is not human, he is a being of darkness made real in my image. It's a long story.

Do NOT trust him. He is dangerous. He has hurt people before and I don't doubt he'll do it again.

Do you know what a simulacrum is? He's like that but the copy of me is made of sentient shadows given a physical form.

I'm not as familiar with the word but I get the idea. Can he be hurt at all?

I don't know how much the laws of this reality may have affected him physically here but I destroyed him with a powerful light source before. Even if there's a possibility that light can't completely destroy him in this place, he should still be sensitive to it and therefore weaker when exposed to light.

Light? That's actually really good to know. I can do something with that if I see him around. Or you. How much do you two look alike? Do you have any differences?

You did but that's not a lot of help. Have you ever figured out a password to let people know that it's you and not him?

I know. He usually dresses differently than I do, but now that I'm here there's nothing that can stop him from taking my clothes and continuing to pose as me that way. He prefers suits though, if it helps.

As for a password, I don't know how I would spread one around without him finding out about it. That's not a bad idea though. I'm just not up to date with technology.

Suits, check. I'm guessing he does have a different vibe, maybe one that will be easier to pick up on as people get to know you both?

You can send private messages or contact people individually. Maybe just a handful at first? Sneakily take pictures of his outfit of the day and send that out? I don't know, I'm reaching.

We have a different demeanor from one another, if that's what you mean.

I can try to sneak pictures if it helps. At this point, I think people are more suspicious of me that it might be hard to send messages without people thinking I'm messing with them though.
